Los Angeles County Fire Response

Many people want to volunteer in response to the fires burning in Los Angeles County. The most important thing you can do is not self-deploy to a fire-affected area, shelter or other area where fire response or recovery is taking place. Trained first-responders are handling the first wave of need. The best way for you to help is to be part of an organized response. L.A. Works, in partnership with the Volunteer Center of Los Angeles have created a L.A. County Fire Response Team to be ready to respond to volunteer needs as they are identified. You'll be the first to be notified of how you can help when the call goes out for volunteers.

If you are already a registered L.A. Works volunteer with an account on the site, Click here to log-in and join the team.

If you are not already registered on this site, please read these directions completely.
Follow these four quick steps (the entire process will take no more than three minutes.)
1) Create a member account.
2) You will be sent an activation email. (If it's not there, check your spam or junk folder).

Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, 2009

MLK DayL.A. Works is excited to join President-Elect Barack Obama's call for all Americans to join in service to our country with our annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, Monday, January 19th, at Loren Miller Elementary School. One day before the official inauguration of America's first African-American president, L.A. Works will celebrate the spirit and legacy of Dr. King with a special day of programs and service as we revitalize this deserving elementary school campus. More information will be forthcoming along with open registration in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, you can participate in the historic change that is sweeping America by helping us organize MLK Day to make it our best ever. We invite you to be a member of our Registration Committee (helping to sign volunteers into the project in the morning) or our Task Captain Committee (helping to oversee painting and planting projects). Please click on the link to sign up. Continue to visit our Website for updates and additional volunteer opportunities. Thank you.
